“Yntymaq”: seminar on rights protection, dispute prevention and the use of ai has started

On Thursday, May 20, a two-day training seminar organized by the Trade Union Communications Center of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Republican Public Association “Kazakhstan Sectoral Trade Union of Entrepreneurship Workers ‘YNTYMAQ’” began its work at the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for representatives of member organizations from the regions of the country.

The event, aimed at strengthening the legal capacity of trade union organizations, explaining current changes in labour relations and mastering modern approaches to labour dispute resolution, brought together heads and trade union activists of regional organizations of the sectoral trade union, members of conciliation commissions and trade union personnel.

Advisor to the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairakbai Zhanabekov and Chairman of the sectoral trade union “YNTYMAQ” Tolegen Shaimov addressed the seminar participants with welcoming remarks. In their speeches, they focused on the key challenges currently facing the trade union movement.

The speakers noted the growing role of trade unions in protecting labour rights and the legitimate interests of workers, emphasizing the importance of continuously improving the professional qualifications of trade union personnel. Special attention was paid to the development of social partnership, prevention of labour conflicts and enhancement of workers’ legal awareness.

The first day of the seminar, supervised by Lyazzat Yeszhanova, Deputy Director of the FTURK Trade Union Communications Center, covered a number of pressing topics.

In particular, participants discussed issues related to strengthening the legal status of trade unions in the labour sphere and received explanations regarding amendments and additions to legislation introduced by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 7, 2026, aimed at improving occupational safety conditions, protecting workers’ labour rights and addressing social security issues.

In addition, following presentations by lecturer Maira Boranbayeva, participants discussed psychological aspects of management, prevention and resolution of labour conflicts and disputes, the role of leadership in maintaining employees’ emotional well-being, practices for reviewing labour disputes related to unlawful dismissal, as well as mechanisms for resolving collective labour disputes and exercising the right to strike.

As part of the program, participants are exchanging experience in the application of labour legislation, discussing real-life practical situations and completing assignments related to labour dispute resolution.

“The interactive format of discussions and practical sessions makes it possible to develop common approaches to solving complex legal issues and share best practices in trade union work,” seminar participants noted.

Tomorrow’s program will focus on the topic “Using Artificial Intelligence Capabilities in Trade Union Activities: Potential Risks and Application Practices.” Adilet Kadirkul, Chief Specialist of the FTURK Department of Digital Technologies, will share methods for the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in trade union activities and speak about the impact of digital technologies on labour relations and information security issues.

According to the organizers and participants of the seminar, such educational platforms not only contribute to improving the professional competencies of trade union workers, but also help develop effective practices for protecting workers’ rights, strengthening social partnership institutions and promoting fair labour relations.
